Since 1895, Schloss Herdern has offered around 100 people of all ages a home and an opportunity to work. The facility is aimed at people who have difficulties integrating into society due to psychological, social or alcohol-related challenges.

The own brands "Genuss Handwerk" and "Design Handwerk" are not only available in the castle store, but also from various resellers and in the web store. The active involvement of the residents in the production and processing of these products is particularly noteworthy. From preparation to bottling and labeling, they make a valuable contribution.

There is a clear commitment to regenerative agriculture, as sustainable and environmentally friendly land management is considered essential and is actively promoted.
